About this line:
This product comes from a Cambodian Fair Trade cooperative with two locations, one in the bustling city of Phnom Penh as well as the other in the outer province of Baray, that together employ over 200 artisans.
The city workshop was once the family home to the organization’s amazing leader, Anak. With polio still a common disease in Cambodia, often as a result of US bombings in the area, many of the artisans here are differently-abled.
In the provincial workshop, sewers come here for months of training before they begin working from home, but many artisans choose to use this workshop as their permanent workplace. Outside the facility is a substantial organic garden full of homegrown food, used to make lunch! As well as the fair trade organic cotton that they later weave into fabric.
The workshop sometimes purchases factory remnants (or "seconds"), leftover from large factories, saving it from being wasted (a problem with large factories).
